Maha Haq, Director, Retail Strategy at Green Thumb Industries To Speak at 2022 CDE, Chicago.

Maha will be speaking on “Retail Partnerships & Customer Acquisition | strategies for increasing brand awareness and repeat buyers” at CDE 2022.

Maha Haq's cannabis career began in 2012. She first worked at medical cannabis dispensaries, deliveries, grows, and labs in Los Angeles; her goal was to experience the entire supply chain prior to California’s transition into the adult-use market. Maha later developed licensed cannabis businesses in 12 states through a Denver-based agency. Since 2020, Maha has worked as an operations consultant for dispensaries, consumption lounges, and cannabis events through her firm, Hospitality. Maha is now the Director of Retail Strategy for Green Thumb Industries (GTI).

In 2018, Maha founded Cannaclub, a collegiate organization focusing on cannabis education, advocacy, and opportunities for the next generation. Their mission is to empower students and scholars interested in the cannabis industry while making a positive social impact through academia and activism. Under Maha’s leadership, Cannaclub expanded to 26 universities across the nation with over 5,500 members since starting at her alma mater UCLA, where she also served as a researcher at the UCLA Cannabis Research Initiative. Her undergrad was in Mathematics and Sociology. Maha also has her M.S. in pharmacological sciences, concentrating on Medical Cannabis Sciences & Therapeutics at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, the nation’s first graduate program studying cannabis.

Maha continues to advocate through nonprofits and sits on the board of the Cannabis Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles chapter of NORML. In addition, Maha is an instructor for science classes at the cannabis vocational school, Oaksterdam University in Oakland. She was listed in Entrepreneur Magazine’s “100 Powerful Women of 2020.
